Thayer – Dorothy M. Cinotto, 88 of Thayer, IL passed away Tuesday Jan. 22, 2013 at St. John’s Hospice, Springfield, IL.

Dorothy was born Feb. 15, 1924 in Sangamon Co., IL a daughter of Edward and Mabel (Reichert) Herr. She was a graduate of Pleasant Plains High School and married Edward Cinotto on June 4, 1942 in Valdosta, GA. Dorothy was a member of the Thayer United Methodist Church in Thayer, IL and the Thayer Senior Citizens.

Surviving Dorothy are her sons, Wayne E. (Sharen) Cinotto of Florescent, MO and Dale L. (Kathleen) Cinotto of Springfield, IL, 3 grandchildren, sisters, Ruth Moss of Centerpoint, IN and Betty Check of Independence, KY and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Dorothy in death was her husband Edward Cinotto and her brothers, Charles, Fred, Harold and Lee Herr.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Sat. Jan. 26, 2013 until service time at 11:30 a.m. at the Thayer United Methodist Church, Thayer, IL. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Sabo. Virden- Adele Marguerite Hays, 95 of Virden, IL passed away Wednesday Jan. 16, 2013 at her home.

Adele was born Dec. 21, 1917 in Virden, IL a daughter of John James and Muriel Marguerite (Kennedy) Rankin. She was a 1935 graduate of Virden High School; a member for 83 years of the First Presbyterian Church, Virden, IL and in 1992 was Church Woman of The Year and a 70-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Palmyra Chapter. Adele married Elmore L. Hays Oct. 25, 1941 in Virden, IL.

Adele is survived by her daughter, Janell Marguerite (A. Michael) Bednara of Osage Beach, MO. Grandsons, John Andrew “Drew” (Joli) Bednara and Scott Hays (Jackie) Bednara, great grandsons Andrew Hays Bednara and William Henry Bednara all of Springfield, MO, nephew, Richard (Diane) Hays of Destin, FL and cousins Brian, Bob and Rick Rankin. Preceding Adele in death was her husband Elmore L. Hays and her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL with funeral services at Noon at the funeral home. Rev. Sue Sawers officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, Girard, IL. Memorials may be made to North Mac Agriculture Dept., Virden, IL, Union Chapel Cemetery Girard, IL or First Presbyterian Church, Virden, IL. Auburn –Mike P. Hoodak 95 of Auburn, IL passed away Tuesday Jan. 15, 2013 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auburn, IL.

Mike was born Nov. 12, 1917 in Pawnee, IL. a son of Nicholas and Helen (Vansac) Hoodak. Mike married Wilma J. Bentley Sept. 25, 1961 in Auburn, IL. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL. Mike was a WW II Army veteran, a member of K of C Council 364 in Springfield, IL. and the American Legion Post # 277 in Auburn, IL. Mike was a meat cutter for 28 years for Kroger Grocery Stores and worked as an independent meat cutter for 7 years.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. (Edward) Hoodak-Henn of Waverly, IL two grandchildren, Helen A. and Kody Henn. Preceding Mike in death was his wife, Wilma J. Hoodak, sisters, Mary K. and Helen A. Hoodak, brothers, Nicholas, Steven, Joseph and Matthew Hoodak, his niece Beverly Pratt and his nephew Joseph Hoodak II.

Visitation was from 5;00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 at Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Auburn, IL with a 5 p.m. rosary service. Funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 18, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL. Father Chris House officiating organist was Karen Greifzu. Pallbearers were Edward, Kody, Mike and Thomas J. Henn, Gene Maley and Bill Ferry. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Parish St. Benedict’s Church, Auburn, IL.
